Paying with Bitcoin

We’re Bitcoin-native. You pay in Bitcoin, through our own self-hosted BTCPay Server — no card, no bank, no third-party processor between you and us. Prices are set in USD; at checkout you pay the equivalent in Bitcoin.

Three ways to pay

Every invoice can be paid three ways — pick whichever suits you:

  • On-chain Bitcoin — the universal option. It settles once your payment lands in a block, typically around ten minutes. You pay the normal network fee, so it’s best for larger amounts where a small fee doesn’t matter. Fully self-custodial and the most censorship-resistant.
  • Lightning — near-instant and nearly free. Ideal for smaller or recurring payments. You’ll need a Lightning-capable wallet with a little balance; if yours does Lightning, this is usually the smoothest path.
  • Cashu (ecash) — instant and private. Cashu is bearer ecash, so the payment can’t be linked back to you. You’ll need a Cashu wallet. The tradeoff: ecash is held with a mint, so there’s a measure of trust in that mint — in exchange for the strongest privacy of the three.

The checkout screen shows the available methods, each with a QR code and an address or invoice. Scan it with your wallet and you’re done.

The rate is locked while you pay

When an invoice is created, the Bitcoin amount is locked to the USD price for a short window. Pay within it and the amount is fixed; if it expires first, just reload the page for a fresh quote at the current rate.

Pay an invoice, or top up your balance

You can pay each invoice as it arrives, or top up your SHC account balance ahead of time — we draw from it automatically as your services renew, so renewals just happen without you reaching for a wallet every cycle. See Topping up your account balance.

Refunds

Bitcoin payments are non-refundable — we don’t send Bitcoin back to your wallet. But cancellation is pro-rated: if you cancel partway through a billing cycle, the unused, prepaid time is credited to your account balance, which you can spend on other services. See Refunds and cancellations.

Two locations, one setup: invoices route through our self-hosted BTCPay — a Katy, Texas store and a Cherryvale, Kansas store, depending on where your service lives. Either way it’s our infrastructure end to end. We just want your money — in the one currency that doesn’t ask who you are.
