Connecting to Your Server

You connect to your server using SSH — an encrypted remote terminal. Your connection details (the server's IP address and initial login) appear in your client portal once provisioning completes, usually within a few minutes of payment confirming.

Where are my credentials?

Log into the client portal, open your service, and click View Details. Your username, password, and IP address are listed there. If you added an SSH key during signup, password login may be disabled on the server — use your key instead. You can inject a new SSH key at any time from the portal or the customer API.

SSH clients by platform

  • Windows — the built-in ssh in PowerShell or Command Prompt, Windows Terminal, or PuTTY
  • Mac — Terminal (built-in): just run ssh
  • Linux — any terminal
  • iOS / Android — a mobile SSH app of your choice

Connecting

From a terminal, the command is:

  • ssh root@YOUR.SERVER.IP (replace with the IP from your portal, and the username if it isn't root)

The first time you connect, your client shows the server's host key fingerprint and asks you to confirm it — that's normal; accept it to continue. Then authenticate with your password, or your key if you supplied one. If your key isn't in the default location, point at it with ssh -i /path/to/your_key root@YOUR.SERVER.IP.

Locked out? Use the console

Log into your client portal and open the Console for your server. This gives you direct keyboard access to your machine through your browser — no network connection required — so you can fix a firewall rule, an SSH config, or a forgotten step and get back in. If you ever need to start clean, you can reinstall the OS from the portal as well.
