SSH is how you reach your server — an encrypted remote terminal. You can log in with a password or, better, an SSH key. Keys are stronger than passwords and don't get brute-forced. If you add a key at signup, we can disable password login entirely.
On your own computer (Linux, Mac, or Windows with OpenSSH), create a key pair:
During checkout you can paste your public key. The server boots with your key already installed, and you connect immediately — no password to copy out of the portal.
You can manage the SSH key on file for your service from the client portal or the customer API at any time. Rotating a key is just setting a new one — do it whenever a key is retired, a laptop changes hands, or you simply want a fresh one.
Need a new key on a server that's already running? You can inject an SSH key into a live server without rebooting it, and remove a live key the same way. This is the fast path when you've lost a private key or need to grant a teammate access right now — no downtime, no reinstall.
Log into the client portal, open your service, and click View Details. Your username, IP address, and (if password login is enabled) your password are there.
Open the web Console for your server in the client portal. It gives you direct keyboard access through your browser with no network connection to the server required — so you can fix your SSH config or add a key and get back in. See Connecting to Your Server for SSH clients per platform.
